Irish Beef steamed Dim Sum
- 500g minced Irish Beef
- 1 finely chopped onion
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1 teaspoon of sugar
- A handful of Chinese lettuce
- Soy sauce
- Vegetable oil
- Salt
- Won ton cases (pack of 24)
Step 1
Begin by mixing the finely chopped onion, 500g minced Irish Beef and Chinese lettuce in a large bowl with the salt sugar and egg. ¬Make sure the ingredients are well folded together, this will ensure a smooth consistency to the filling of the finished product
Step 2
Once the meat filling is created add a splash of soy sauce, a tablespoon of vegetable oil and a generous pinch of salt. Again, mix well until filling is smooth
Step 3
From the mixture you have now created, craft 24 small balls of filling. You can achieve this by rolling the mixture in your hands until it forms a spherical ball
Step 4
Once you have the 24 equal balls of filling place these balls into the middle of each won ton case. Now fold the case around the filling ball, making sure to pinch the edges, creating a ruffled line and an overall semicircle shape to the dumpling
Step 5
Bring a pan of water to the boil and reduce to a simmer. Place the dumplings evenly and separately on your steaming plate and steam for 10-15 minutes until cooked through and tender
